Iran reviewing US proposal; response will be sent via Pakistani mediators

Iran has confirmed that it is still reviewing a proposal from the United States aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, with its response expected to be delivered through Pakistani mediators. The development highlights Islamabad’s continued role as a key intermediary in efforts to ease tensions between the two countries.

According to Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei, Tehran is carefully examining the details of the US proposal before reaching a final decision. He stated that once the internal review process is complete, Iran’s official position will be communicated to the Pakistani side, which has been facilitating indirect exchanges between the two nations.

The proposal is part of broader diplomatic efforts to halt hostilities and stabilise the region, particularly amid concerns over disruptions in strategic waterways and rising geopolitical tensions. Talks so far have largely focused on ending the conflict, with more complex issues expected to be addressed at a later stage.

Pakistan has played a central role in mediating between Washington and Tehran, hosting discussions and conveying proposals between the two sides.

While there are signs of cautious progress, uncertainty remains as both countries continue to assess key terms before moving toward any formal agreement.
