Azadi Safari Train: Sindh’s Patriotic Journey to Celebrate Independence Day

The Sindh government is set to ignite patriotic fervor with the launch of the Azadi Safari Train, a special initiative to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, 2025, under the theme “Jashn-e-Azadi – Ma’raka-e-Haq” (Battle for Truth).

Departing from Karachi Cantt Station on August 13 and returning the following evening, the train will journey through Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, and Umerkot, culminating at Zero Point in Tharparkar.

Announced during a meeting chaired by Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism, Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, the Azadi Safari Train builds on the existing Thar Desert Train Safari, rebranded to reflect the spirit of Independence Day.

Day. Fayyaz Shah, Managing Director of Tourism, outlined the project, emphasizing its role in promoting Sindh’s cultural heritage and national pride.

The train’s route will showcase Sindh’s diverse landscapes, from urban Karachi to the arid beauty of Tharparkar.

At each stop, passengers—including civil society members, showbiz personalities, and political figures—will distribute national flags to the public, fostering a sense of unity.

Minister Zulfiqar Ali Shah highlighted, “We aim to celebrate Independence Day with unmatched zeal, connecting people through shared pride in our nation.”
