Musa Maneka, son of former First Lady Bushra Bibi and her ex-husband Khawar Farid Maneka, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting a domestic worker at his family’s residence in Peer Ghani village, Pakpattan.
According to the First Information Report (FIR) filed at Saddar Police Station under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code (attempted murder), the complainant, Manzoor Ahmed, father of the victim Ali Bahadur, alleged that Musa Maneka opened fire on his son following a dispute over a bedsheet. Both Manzoor and Ali were employed at the Maneka family’s residence. The FIR states that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. on July 17, 2025, when Ali placed two bedsheets outside a bedroom. Musa reportedly became enraged when Ali explained he had handled the sheets with care, shooting him with a pistol. Ali, severely injured, was rushed to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Pakpattan, where doctors have since confirmed his condition as stable and out of danger.
District Police Officer (DPO) Javed Chadhar, who personally led the response, confirmed that Musa Maneka was taken into custody after a 30-minute standoff during which he initially resisted arrest and prevented others from aiding the injured worker. “Musa Maneka admitted to shooting the employee over alleged negligence in duties,” Chadhar stated, adding that the pistol used in the incident, along with other illegal weapons, was recovered from the suspect. Musa was judicially remanded and transferred to Pakpattan District Jail on Thursday night. “No one is above the law, regardless of their influence,” Chadhar emphasized, vowing strict legal action.
