In a meeting chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah at the CM House, a decision was made to commemorate Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14 and the historic Victory Day (Maarka-e-Haq) on August 15 with grandeur and unity this year.

The meeting, attended by provincial ministers Sharjeel Memon, Saeed Ghani, Muhammad Bux Mehr, and Zulfiqar Shah, included key officials such as Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, Commissioner Karachi Hassan Naqvi, Additional IG Javed Alam Odho, provincial secretaries, Commissioner Sukkur Fayaz Abbasi, and representatives from Corps V, COMKAR, and Southern Air Command. Mayors and commissioners from Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and Larkana joined via video link.

Expressing pride in Pakistan’s historic victory over India, Chief Minister Shah announced that both Independence Day and Victory Day would be celebrated with befitting dignity. He outlined a series of special events for August 14 and 15, including programs to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces, cultural shows, sports competitions, and musical gatherings. These activities will begin on August 1 across the province to foster a spirit of patriotism and unity.

To ensure seamless execution, Chief Minister Shah formed a high-level committee led by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. The committee includes ministers for sports, culture, and local government, along with all mayors of Sindh. Tasked with preparing a comprehensive program, the committee will submit its plan to the Chief Minister for approval.

This decision reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to celebrating Pakistan’s Independence Day with fervor, dignity, and solidarity, honoring the nation’s sacrifices and achievements.
