The Federal Board of Revenue’s (FBR) Large Taxpayer Office (LTO) in Karachi has set a historic record by achieving an unprecedented tax collection milestone at the close of the financial year.

For the first time in history, Karachi’s LTO recorded a staggering 48% increase in tax collection for the month of June, amassing a total of PKR 449.5 billion. In a remarkable feat, the LTO collected over PKR 184.7 billion in taxes in a single day, establishing a new benchmark in tax collection, according to the FBR.

The FBR reports for the financial year 2024-25 that Karachi’s LTO has collected an impressive sum exceeding PKR 3.256 trillion, solidifying its pivotal role in the country’s revenue generation efforts.
