Third Death from Brain-Eating Amoeba Reported in Sindh

Brain-eating amoeba has claimed another life in Karachi. This incident brings the total number of fatalities from this infection in Sindh to three this year. The latest victim, a resident of North Karachi, was only 17 years of age.

Naegleria fowleri is commonly found in warm freshwater environments and can cause a rare but deadly infection known as primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM). Health authorities urge the public to take precautions, such as avoiding untreated water sources and ensuring proper chlorination of swimming pools, to prevent further cases.
