As Muharram-ul-Haram 1447 AH approaches, to ensure public safety and maintain law and order during the holy month, Karachi Police has released a comprehensive security plan. A total of 20,350 police officers and personnel will be deployed across the city to provide security during this period.
As per the plan, 829 processions and 5,227 religious gatherings (majalis) are to be held in Karachi. In order to secure these events, 4,605 officers and personnel will be assigned to majalis, 7,004 to secure processions, and an additional 1,660 will be stationed at highly sensitive locations and Imam Bargahs.
In addition to the police, the Traffic Police will also play a key role, with 1,100 officers and personnel assigned to manage traffic flow and ensure smooth movement during Muharram. The police have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious or unusual activity immediately by contacting the police helpline; Madadgar 15.
The Karachi Police has reaffirmed its commitment to protect the lives and property of citizens and maintain peace during the sacred month of Muharram-ul-Haram, vowing to fulfill its duties diligently.
