President Trump Issues Warning For Tehran

Tuesday marks the fifth day of the continued military escalation between Iran and Israel. Both countries have continued to trade missiles, with subsequent losses in the aftermath. After urging both sides to agree to a deal, US President Trump issued a warning to Tehran, urging the civilians to evacuate, after his early departure from the G7 summit in Canada.

Iran should have signed the ‘deal’ I told them to sign. What a shame, and waste of human life. Simply stated, IRAN CAN NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON. I said it over and over again! Everyone should immediately evacuate Tehran!

He wrote on his Truth Social media platform, claiming Iran was “at the negotiating table” and close to a deal to prevent nuclear weapon development.

Karoline Leavitt, White House press secretary, tweeted that the reason for this early departure was “because of what’s going on in the Middle East.”

At the summit, initially, the signing of a joint statement calling for de-escalation in the Israel-Iran conflict was resisted by Trump, which in turn was being pushed for by European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

The declaration denounced Iran as “the leading source of regional instability and terror” and reasserted Israel’s right to defend itself while calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and wider de-escalation. Trump eventually signed the revised draft after it had been amended, although his premature departure meant that he had little time to engage in further negotiations, including scheduled meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Trump has been outspoken in keeping Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, a position that he restated at the G7. Iran’s rejection of a U.S. nuclear deal and advancing to acquire uranium enrichment was cited as the reason for Trump’s urging of the evacuation of Iranian citizens.
