Crackdown on Smuggling in Karachi: PKR 5 million Seized

Pakistan Rangers (Sindh), in its ongoing drive against smuggling, made significant arrests and recovered smuggled goods in Karachi’s Banaras and Orangi Town neighborhoods.

Two suspects, Saeedullah and Obaidullah, were recently taken into custody. They were found to be carrying non-custom-paid goods from Balochistan to Karachi in two Suzuki cars, both illegally registered with the same plate number: KU-5969.

The Rangers spokesperson said that the impounded Suzuki cars uncovered a stash of fireworks, cigarettes, and cloth materials. The total street value of the confiscated contraband is more than PKR 5 million.

Rangers officials restated their vow to exterminate smuggling rings. Officials vowed that operations will continue until smuggling operations are wholly eradicated from the area. The arrested persons, as well as the goods seized, have been transferred to Customs Enforcement for additional legal proceedings
