Iran’s IRGC Navy Reports Seven Vessels Hit, Warns US Against Further Provocations

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy has reported that seven vessels were hit in incidents around the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, while warning the United States that further provocations could trigger a broader response against its regional bases.

According to the IRGC, four vessels allegedly involved in illegal oil transfers in the northern Persian Gulf were struck simultaneously and caught fire on Wednesday after being tracked by Iranian forces.

The force also said three additional vessels collided with naval mines west of the Strait of Hormuz. Details about the vessels’ identities, ownership, and possible casualties were not immediately available.

In its warning to Washington, the IRGC said continued US actions could lead to an expanded response targeting American military bases across the region.

The developments come amid heightened tensions over maritime security and control of shipping routes near the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important passage for global energy supplies.

The claims were issued by Iran’s military and have not been independently verified in the available reporting. The incidents raise fresh concerns about the safety of commercial shipping and the potential for further escalation between Tehran and Washington.
