The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday summoned Punjab’s home secretary and the superintendent of Kot Lakhpat Jail in a petition seeking the release of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s three sisters.

Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi and Uzma Khan were detained in September for 30 days under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, 1960, amid preparations for a planned PTI protest march towards Islamabad.
The latest petition was filed by Aleema Khan’s son, Shahrez Khan, who argued that the detention orders had expired on October 19 and 20, yet the three women remained in custody.
During Thursday’s hearing, Justice Abher Gul Khan directed the Punjab home secretary and jail superintendent to appear personally and submit reports. The court adjourned further proceedings until October 28.
The petitioner argued that continued detention beyond the authorised period violated the women’s fundamental rights and requested their release. These claims remain part of the ongoing legal proceedings.
The case highlights continuing legal challenges surrounding the detention of Imran Khan’s family members as the court considers the petition.
