Sindh Government Sets Stage for 2025 National and Asian Youth Games

The Sindh government convened an important meeting to ensure robust participation and thorough preparations for the 35th National Games, the inaugural National Youth Games, the 3rd Asian Youth Games, and the 4th Youth Olympic Games, chaired by Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar.

The meeting was held at the Sindh Secretariat and saw participation from key officials, including Additional Secretary of the Sports Department, Asad Ishaq, and Sindh Olympic Association representatives Ahmad Ali Rajput and Asghar Baloch, among others.

Sindh’s ambitious plans to host the 35th National Games from December 6 to 13, 2025, were outlined, showcasing the province’s commitment to fostering sports at a national level. In addition, Sindh’s athletes are set to compete in three other major events: the first-ever National Youth Games, the 3rd Asian Youth Games, and the 4th Youth Olympic Games.

According to Ahmad Ali Rajput and Asad Ishaq, the National Youth Games will be held in Islamabad from September 6 to 13, 2025, under the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. The 3rd Asian Youth Games are scheduled for October 22 to 31, 2025, in Manama, Bahrain, while the 4th Youth Olympic Games will take place in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13, 2025.

Minister Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar announced that a contingent of 350 athletes, team officials, and contingent officials from Sindh will participate in the National Youth Games. He directed all provincial sports associations to conduct transparent and fair trials for team selections and to organize immediate training camps to prepare athletes. “Selected athletes will receive professional coaching to ensure they perform at their best on both national and international stages,” Mahar stated.

Highlighting the potential of Sindh’s youth, the minister emphasized, “There is no shortage of talent among our young athletes. They have the capability to win medals at national and global levels.” To maximize their chances of success, athletes qualifying for the Asian Youth Games will automatically be eligible for the Youth Olympic Games, with special preparations already underway.
