Sindh Strengthens Regional and Global Ties with Livestock and Investment Deals

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah met with Balochistan’s Livestock Minister Sardarzada Mir Faisal Jamali at CM House in Karachi to strengthen inter-provincial collaboration in the livestock sector. The meeting, attended by Sindh’s Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammad Ali Malkani, resulted in an agreement to exchange superior livestock breeds and promote joint research between the two provinces’ livestock departments. A key outcome was the decision to organize a cattle show in Jacobabad, with Chief Minister Shah committing to personally participate and extending an invitation to Balochistan’s Chief Minister.

The leaders agreed to introduce Sindh’s renowned breeds—Thari cattle, Red Sindhi, Kundi buffalo, Kohistani camel, and goats—alongside Balochistan’s prized Rakhli cattle, Bhagani bulls, and Kuchi camels to traders and breeders in both provinces. This initiative aims to enhance livestock productivity and support the economic backbone of rural communities, as agriculture and livestock contribute significantly to Pakistan’s economy, with Sindh alone accounting for 14.5% of the national GDP.

In a separate meeting, Chief Minister Shah engaged with UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Salem Al-Zaabi to deepen bilateral ties and explore investment opportunities, particularly in public-private partnerships. The ambassador congratulated Shah on the recent construction of Bhutto Highway and confirmed that UAE investors will soon visit Sindh to evaluate projects. Both leaders agreed to collaborate on women’s empowerment initiatives, focusing on health, education, and employment opportunities for women in Sindh. Shah announced that a high-level meeting on UAE investments will be convened soon to advance these efforts.

Additionally, Shah took swift action on a reported breach in the Dhamrao Branch canal at RD 67 in Mehar, Dadu district. He directed relevant departments to prioritize public safety and ensure the protection of lives and property. Irrigation Secretary Zarif Khero briefed the Chief Minister, confirming that machinery and equipment have been deployed, and repair work is progressing rapidly to address the breach.
