Karachi experienced widespread rainfall on June 28, 2025, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reporting a citywide total of 17.8 mm.
The heaviest downpour was recorded in Surjani Town at 58.2 mm, followed by Saddar Town with 47.5 mm, Gulshan-e-Maimar at 37.4 mm, and Gulshan-e-Hadid with 37 mm. Other areas saw significant showers, including Shahrah-e-Faisal (31 mm), University Road (24 mm), North Karachi (29.8 mm), and Jinnah Terminal (29.2 mm).
Defence recorded 25.5 mm, Korangi 25.2 mm, Nazimabad 20.5 mm, and Orangi Town 19.4 mm. Lesser rainfall was noted in Kemari (18.5 mm), Old Airport (18.2 mm), and Masroor Base (10 mm), with Bahria Town receiving the least at 6.3 mm.
The PMD warns of continued monsoon activity until July 1, with the potential for urban flooding in low-lying areas due to heavy showers. Residents are advised to stay cautious as the city braces for more rain.
