Abdul Basit, the 15-year-old son of Balochistan Assembly member Maulana Hidayatur Rehman, who had gone missing from Malir Saudabad, has safely returned to his home in Gwadar. Maulana Hidayatur Rehman himself confirmed his son’s safe return.
Abdul Basit’s maternal grandfather, Muhammad Adam, registered an FIR at the Saudabad Police Station following the incident. In his statement, Muhammad Adam explained that his two grandsons, Abdul Basit and Abdul Wahab, were students at Madrassa Hanfia Farooqi in Saudabad. He mentioned that Abdul Basit, a seventh-grade student, was reportedly distressed with his studies at the madrassa and had frequently expressed a desire to leave.
According to the grandfather, Abdul Basit disappeared from the madrassa after afternoon prayers yesterday without informing anyone. Police obtained CCTV footage from outside the madrassa, which showed Abdul Basit walking alone. Investigations revealed that Abdul Basit used various forms of public transport to make his way back to Gwadar.
